Yurringa Group was founded by Daniel Briggs and Shane Wilkins to drive for-profit ventures that support the Indigenous economy. The group comprises four companies:
- Yurringa Energy
- Yurringa
- Karnaji, and
- Kal’pul.
Inspired by the Yorta Yorta word for “sun,” Yurringa Energy was their first venture, focusing on energy solutions. The name “Yurringa” was also chosen for their talent acquisition, labour hire, and commercial drone operations company, symbolizing a strong connection to their roots.
As the group grew, Karnaji and Kal’pul were established to further employment and procurement opportunities, with a focus on entering new industries. These ventures aim to enhance Indigenous procurement and participation, creating unique opportunities for growth and economic inclusion
